What is a Hypnotherapy Session Like?
The first step is scheduling a discovery call on the phone or online via Zoom. If you know that you want to work with me and that solution-focused hypnotherapy is what you are looking for, we can skip this step and just get started with an Initial Consultation.
If you are in the Altrincham area (Greater Manchester, Warrington, & Cheshire) we can meet face to face in a lovely healing treatment room at Vintage Therapies, or on Zoom from anywhere in the world.
The Initial Consultation is a 60 minute session and an opportunity for you to learn about how your mind works, how it’s negativity bias might be affecting your life, and how I can help.
You will also receive a HypnoKit™ which includes a lavender hypnotic mist and my transformational self-hypnosis relaxation track that is yours to keep.
Both the Initial Consultation and the HypnoKit™ are free of charge and my gift to you.
Future sessions are 60 minutes each and like the initial consultation, take place either face to face in a lovely healing treatment room in Altrincham, or worldwide via Zoom.
We will get to work straight away helping you to reframe, reprogramme, and transform your mind and your life. Solution focused hypnotherapy will help you understand the limiting beliefs that no longer serve you and replace them with new ways of thinking and living, so you can live without limits.
What to expect
Your Discovery Call:
An opportunity for us to learn a bit about each other. You’ll be able to ask me any questions you have about hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
You can tell me more about how I can help. I can share examples of how I’ve helped people just like you work through similar issues and we can see how I can best assist you.
Discovery calls last for around 15 minutes and take place either on the phone or online via Zoom.
However, if you know that you want to work with me, and want to book an Initial Consultation straight away, you can contact me through the link below to schedule; let me know what time of day and day of the week suits you best. Once we book in, I will send you some pre-session confidentiality paperwork so that we can get started as soon as possible.
For Zoom sessions, full instructions for joining will be sent to you once confirmed.

- Learn how to establish conscious positive thought patterns & to visualise small achievable steps toward your goals
- 30 minutes of hypnosis – a bespoke focused attention and deep relaxation experience based on your needs and designed to change unhelpful thought patterns
- Follow up emails and advice if needed
- Post-session counselling calls if required
How Many Sessions will I Need?
Solution focused hypnotherapy works quickly, many clients see results in 6-8 sessions though results may vary.
What does it cost?
The Initial Consultation is complementary. Subsequent sessions are £50 on Zoom or £60 for face to face sessions in Altrincham at a lovely healing treatment room at Vintage Therapies.

Self-hypnosis & meditation aren't the same, but they do share some very profound similarities in their abilities to reduce stress, improve health, and slow the effects of aging. Just think of someone you know who has been through trauma or a stressful period of their life. Have you noticed how the experience aged them? Meditation & self-hypnosis slow the aging process because they can reduce stress & even reverse the process.
So how does it work? In part, it reduces cortisol, one of the stress hormones released during the stress response. Cortisol can have many negative effects including weight gain and even a decrease in skin elasticity.
When stress triggers the fight or flight response, cortisol is released to protect us from predators. It's a survival mechanism that works by getting into our skin so if we are attacked by a predator, we won't be so tasty. Meditation & self-hypnosis reduce cortisol and flood you with bliss chemicals that give you a youthful glow.
Another anti-aging benefit of self-hypnosis & hypnotherapy is better sleep. The phrase "sleep on it" refers to the very real way your body rids itself of stress while you sleep at night. Practicing meditation or self-hypnosis during the day, allows your body to use that time for stress relief so that at night you can use sleep time just for sleep. And when we are well rested, we both look and feel better.

Feeling scared or helpless whenever you turn on the television or scroll through your socials? I feel you, it's been so difficult to process everything and it’s all starting to get to us. The first step when these feelings start to come up is to remind yourself, that in this moment you are safe and everything is OK. Mentally step back and say to yourself, I am safe, and everything is OK. Know that you cannot control what is happening in the world, but you do have control of your mindset and the ability to shift your emotional state.
It also may be helpful to switch off the news. It's good to stay informed, but not at the expense of our mental health. Our brains don't know the difference between imagination & reality. And we watch images of suffering, we feel it too. There are things we can do. For example, we can donate to aid organisations or see how we can volunteer in the community. When we are doing something positive for others we feel better. Watching bad news passively just feeds that sense of helplessness.
Remember your breathing. Did you know that by simply observing and focusing on your breathing can help shift your emotional state? Breathing consciously gives you back control and in 7 exhalations in about a minute's time, you can trigger the relaxation process. Try this:
Take a breath. Sense your belly rising. Now release that breath naturally. Notice how it flows in. Now out. Begin counting from 1 to 7.
✨1, inhale, belly rising and expanding
✨1, exhale, belly releasing and relaxing
✨2, inhaling, belly rising and expanding
✨2, exhaling, belly releasing and relaxing
✨ Continue counting with your body’s own natural breathing rhythm
If you lose count, start again at 1. Do this until you reach the count of 7.

Happy Sunday y'all! (As a native Kentuckian living in the UK I just really miss saying "y'all" 😆).
Anyway, a very happy Sunday & just a little reminder to make sure you get a little rest today.
Sunday is a good day to start as we tend not to have as many obligations, so start today - and keep it up all week! If you can prioritise just 15 minutes a day of YOU time, just to do NOTHING, you will feel so much better for it. It helps your mood, decreases the perception of chronic pain, & can even improve your immune system & cardiovascular health.
So think about making a NOT to do list 😉:

✨ Be by yourself
✨ Read
✨ Listen to music
✨ Do nothing in particular
✨ Take a walk
✨ Have a bath
✨ Daydream
