HypnoFacts
Hypnosis is a natural state
The hypnotic state is totally normal and we go in and out of it, all day every day.
It happens when you watch a movie, read a book, play a video game, or drive a car. It’s the same state you wake up in (who turned the alarm off – spoiler alert, you did!) or right before falling asleep.
Daydreaming is a type of hypnotic trance
Think about a time where you were driving for hours, or driving home from work, you just sort of spaced out. You weren’t unconscious exactly, but you totally zoned out; your subconscious mind ran the show and drove the car.
When you are in a hypnotic state, your mind quiets, your focus narrows, your breathing slows, and you feel incredibly calm. It works, and it works fast because it counters the effect of the stress response with the relaxation response, and you can just chill out.
Hypnosis feels amazing
When used therapeutically, hypnotherapy does more than just make you feel good; when you are in a hypnotic state, you are far more suggestible than when you are fully awake.
And we will use this to our advantage: hypnosis is really a mind hack where we can bypass the conscious mind entirely so that we speak directly to the subconscious. It’s important that we have a conversation with the subconscious, because the quality of your thoughts determines your state of mind, and your state of mind determines your physical and mental well-being.
So, if you want to make changes and feel more relaxed, positive, and confident, we’ve got to start feeding the subconscious with positive sensory input.
Hypnosis can change your mindset
Once we begin to rewire how we think about things through conscious positive thoughts, and unconscious positive beliefs, we can begin making small achievable changes, and as the firing and the wiring of our brain changes, we become more peaceful, relaxed, and resilient. We get what we expect and what we expect is based on our mindset. The magic of hypnosis is that it works to change the mindset, changing our expectations, and by changing what we expect we can make meaningful change in our lives.
Our brains do not know the difference between imagination and reality
Over time, this tension manifests itself into physical illness, restlessness, irritability, fatigue, worry, problems concentrating, headaches, muscle tension, and trouble sleeping. In addition, many compulsive habits and addictions are also responses to stress.
Retrain Your Brain
Train your mind to focus on vibrant positive thoughts
Negative thoughts are sort of the junk food of our minds. You wouldn’t eat cake all day and expect to feel healthy, it’s like that with negative thinking too.
Create a strong, flexible, agile, balanced, and more powerful mindset
Using the power of hypnosis and the subconscious, we can rewire our minds to think in positive ways and engage in small positive lifestyle changes, a little bit at a time to make big lasting changes in our lives.
Enter a deaper state of concentration and receptiveness
The idea is to set aside normal judgments and sensory reactions, to enter a deeper state of concentration and receptiveness. But although it is quite similar, it’s also a bit different. Meditation can take weeks, months, or even years of practice, with hypnosis, relief can be quicker and more dramatic.
Get Healthy
Do you want to feel healthier?
It’s you in a way, but mostly it’s your subconscious who’s running the programs, thinking the thoughts, and driving your behaviours. That’s great for maintaining the status quo, but not so cool when you consciously want things to be different.
The problem is, your subconscious may be acting against your best interests because it isn’t wired for thriving, it’s wired for survival.
Do you want to make better decisions about your health?
And because it’s always in survival mode, it will always skew negative and think negative thoughts, and negative thoughts are the junk food of your mind.
Feel Great
Hypnosis can train your mind to be relaxed, stronger, more positive, more flexible, more agile, more balanced, and more powerful.
If we want to live our best lives, we must cultivate our minds daily and see it as a daily practice, as we would treat our bodies by going to the gym; we can harness the power of our subconscious through the magic of hypnosis. We can rewire our minds to think positive so that we can be positive. We can feel good and make little baby steps, a little bit at a time to make big, huge, and lasting changes in our lives.

Self-hypnosis & meditation aren't the same, but they do share some very profound similarities in their abilities to reduce stress, improve health, and slow the effects of aging. Just think of someone you know who has been through trauma or a stressful period of their life. Have you noticed how the experience aged them? Meditation & self-hypnosis slow the aging process because they can reduce stress & even reverse the process.
So how does it work? In part, it reduces cortisol, one of the stress hormones released during the stress response. Cortisol can have many negative effects including weight gain and even a decrease in skin elasticity.
When stress triggers the fight or flight response, cortisol is released to protect us from predators. It's a survival mechanism that works by getting into our skin so if we are attacked by a predator, we won't be so tasty. Meditation & self-hypnosis reduce cortisol and flood you with bliss chemicals that give you a youthful glow.
Another anti-aging benefit of self-hypnosis & hypnotherapy is better sleep. The phrase "sleep on it" refers to the very real way your body rids itself of stress while you sleep at night. Practicing meditation or self-hypnosis during the day, allows your body to use that time for stress relief so that at night you can use sleep time just for sleep. And when we are well rested, we both look and feel better.

Feeling scared or helpless whenever you turn on the television or scroll through your socials? I feel you, it's been so difficult to process everything and it’s all starting to get to us. The first step when these feelings start to come up is to remind yourself, that in this moment you are safe and everything is OK. Mentally step back and say to yourself, I am safe, and everything is OK. Know that you cannot control what is happening in the world, but you do have control of your mindset and the ability to shift your emotional state.
It also may be helpful to switch off the news. It's good to stay informed, but not at the expense of our mental health. Our brains don't know the difference between imagination & reality. And we watch images of suffering, we feel it too. There are things we can do. For example, we can donate to aid organisations or see how we can volunteer in the community. When we are doing something positive for others we feel better. Watching bad news passively just feeds that sense of helplessness.
Remember your breathing. Did you know that by simply observing and focusing on your breathing can help shift your emotional state? Breathing consciously gives you back control and in 7 exhalations in about a minute's time, you can trigger the relaxation process. Try this:
Take a breath. Sense your belly rising. Now release that breath naturally. Notice how it flows in. Now out. Begin counting from 1 to 7.
✨1, inhale, belly rising and expanding
✨1, exhale, belly releasing and relaxing
✨2, inhaling, belly rising and expanding
✨2, exhaling, belly releasing and relaxing
✨ Continue counting with your body’s own natural breathing rhythm
If you lose count, start again at 1. Do this until you reach the count of 7.
I hope some of these tips speak to you, but if it's starting to feel like anxiety has become a constant companion, please get in touch through the link in my bio and let's see how I can help. https://linktr.ee/judiquirke

Happy Sunday y'all! (As a native Kentuckian living in the UK I just really miss saying "y'all" 😆).
Anyway, a very happy Sunday & just a little reminder to make sure you get a little rest today.
Sunday is a good day to start as we tend not to have as many obligations, so start today - and keep it up all week! If you can prioritise just 15 minutes a day of YOU time, just to do NOTHING, you will feel so much better for it. It helps your mood, decreases the perception of chronic pain, & can even improve your immune system & cardiovascular health.
So think about making a NOT to do list 😉:
✨ Go outside
✨ Be by yourself
✨ Read
✨ Listen to music
✨ Do nothing in particular
✨ Take a walk
✨ Have a bath
✨ Daydream
✨ Meditate or self-hypnosis (shameless self promotion, you can try one of mine - link in bio 😉)
Whatever you choose, I hope you have a lovely and restful Sunday, and are looking forward to a little bit more non-doing this week 😊.

Happy Twosday! 2/2/22!
Did you know...
Today, 2/22/22 is a palindrome, (reads the same forward and backwards), it's on a Tuesday, and we won't get another date like this in 200 years.
Fun facts...
In numerology the meaning of the date 2/22/22 is all about connections and coming together—not just in one-on-one pairs, but among larger groups and communities. Some say it's a particularly good day for manifesting your dreams.
I sort of think everyday is a good day to manifest your dreams, but hey, let's not take any chances 🙂
