What is The Reset?

The Reset is a bespoke, 60-minute session (introductory session is 85 minutes) that blends two deeply therapeutic approaches:

  • 30 minutes of integrative massage to relax the body and restore balance

  • 30 minutes of guided NSDR (non-sleep deep rest) to soothe the mind and regulate the nervous system

Together, these therapies create a powerful reset - gently shifting you out of the stress response (fight, flight, or freeze) and into a state of grounded, embodied calm.

How It Works?

When you’re constantly “on,” your nervous system forgets what it feels like to be safe. You push through. You hold it all together. You stay high-functioning, but at what cost?

Calms the Nervous System

NSDR helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system (the “rest and digest” mode), calming the body’s stress response and lowering cortisol. This is especially important for those stuck in chronic fight-or-flight mode, supporting deep physiological relaxation and emotional regulation.

Activates the Parasympathetic Nervous System

  • Massage and gentle meridian work (acupressure & reflexology) stimulate vagus nerve pathways (particularly those that run through the neck, face, chest, and abdomen).

  • Integrative massage and meridian work naturally deepen the breath, a key regulator of the vagus nerve. Using acupressure techniques combined with work around the neck & jaw, clients often begin to breathe more fully and slowly without effort.

  • Many clients are stuck in chronic sympathetic (fight/flight) or dorsal vagal (shutdown) states. Gentle touch and acupressure offer safe, non-verbal co-regulation, encourage safety and reconnection with the body, build trust in rest, stillness, and receiving.

  • This makes it an ideal approach for nervous system healing without overwhelm.

About Us

Reset sessions are led by two experienced practitioners who blend science, intuition, and deep care.

Judi Quirke is a clinical hypnotherapist with a calm, intuitive presence and a gift for working with high-achieving, highly sensitive individuals. She specialises in nervous system regulation, subconscious reset, and emotional clarity - helping you come home to yourself in a grounded, sustainable way.

Helen Roberts is a skilled massage therapist known for her warm, nurturing touch and deeply restorative treatments. With a background in body-based healing, she creates a safe space where your body can let go, soften, and begin to repair itself naturally. Helen is trained in aspects of TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), Chi Medics Energy & the Spine, & Reiki.

Together, we bring a unique, bespoke, integrated approach to rest and regulation, combining guided NSDR, and therapeutic bodywork to support your whole system in slowing down, recalibrating, and gently restoring balance.

Please park in Bay 6, which is clearly marked Vintage Therapies.
Use the side entrance, you will see the sign for Vintage Therapies.
Once through the door you will see Cheshire Yoga, turn right and we will be the first door on your right (studio 8).

 

Your Session

Each session is tailored to support your unique needs on the day. We’ll begin with a brief check-in to understand how you’re arriving and shape the treatment accordingly.

You’ll then have a few quiet moments to unwind, allowing your system to begin softening before we begin.

The treatment itself takes place fully clothed and lying comfortably back in a supine position. You’ll be gently guided through the session, with a light, seamless transition between modalities.

You can expect to feel balanced, deeply relaxed, and subtly re-energised, calm yet clear, restored and ready to re-enter your day with ease.
